2. What this policy covers
This policy covers:
- This website (including Terms, Privacy, and Content Studio pages)
- Game downloads offered from this site
- Related first-party tools used to publish Manafall marketing content to our own social accounts (such as TikTok)
It does not control itch.io, Discord, YouTube, Ko-fi, Mega, TikTok, GitHub, or other third-party platforms. Those services have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we collect
Website
This site is a static landing page. We do not run our own user accounts or payment forms on this site. We do not intend to collect names, emails, or payment card numbers through this website.
Like most websites, basic technical data may be processed automatically by our host (GitHub Pages) or your browser when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. We do not sell that data.
Anonymous visit and download totals shown on the home page are stored as simple number counters through a third-party counter service (Abacus). Those counters do not identify you by name. Your browser may keep a small local flag so refresh spam does not inflate the visitor count.
Optional support (Ko-fi)
If you tip or support Manafall through Ko-fi, Ko-fi (and its payment partners such as PayPal) process your payment information. That data is handled by Ko-fi under their policies. This site does not store card numbers.
Discord and community
If you join Discord or contact us there, Discord processes your account and messages under Discord’s privacy policy. We may see your Discord username and messages you send in Manafall spaces.
Game / multiplayer
When you play Manafall online, game servers or networking may process connection data (such as IP address), display names / gamertags, and gameplay session data needed to run multiplayer. We use this to operate the game, fix bugs, and prevent abuse—not to sell personal profiles.
Manafall Content Studio / TikTok tools
If you (the account owner) connect TikTok through Login Kit for Manafall Content Studio:
- TikTok provides tokens and basic account identifiers so we can publish to the authorized account (for example @manafalltiktoc)
- We may store access/refresh tokens and related post metadata securely for publishing and reviewing results
- Video files you choose to upload are sent to TikTok to create posts
- We do not use TikTok Login to access unrelated personal TikTok data beyond what the granted scopes allow
TikTok’s own processing is described in TikTok’s privacy policy and your TikTok settings.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate and improve the website and game
- Provide downloads and support links
- Publish and manage official Manafall marketing posts when authorized
- Respond to messages and moderate community spaces
- Protect against fraud, cheating, and abuse
- Comply with law when required
5. Cookies and similar tech
This site may use local browser storage for simple preferences (for example music mute, or Content Studio demo settings like a client key saved in your browser). We do not use advertising trackers on this site by design. Third-party embeds (such as YouTube) may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers that host the site, downloads, or tools (for example GitHub Pages, Mega)
- Platforms you choose to use (Ko-fi, Discord, itch.io, TikTok, YouTube)
- Authorities when required by law
7. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including operating the game, securing accounts/tools, and legal requirements. Tokens for social posting can be revoked by disconnecting the TikTok authorization.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect credentials and tokens (for example keeping client secrets off the public website). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children
Manafall is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us through Discord or itch.io. You can also clear site data in your browser, leave Discord, and revoke TikTok app access in your TikTok account settings.
11. International visitors
If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our hosts and platforms operate.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site or related tools after changes means you accept the updated policy.
